A Course in Miracles: Lesson 193

Lesson 193

All things are lessons God would have me learn.

It is no coincidence that everything in the Course seems to function around the singular number “one.”  The one way to Heaven.  The Oneness of all.  The one purpose.  The One Love.  The One Light.  The one Will, God’s.  And, now, the one lesson.

God does not understand the need for lessons but does understand that we have created a system where, as a collective, we believe this to be true.  Thus, does God meet us where we are and make it as simple as possible, that everything is merely the remembrance that we are the Light of the world.  In this manner, we forgive our misguided thoughts and the actions of others and come back to the place before madness was born out of a crazy idea to play out that we were separate from God.  It is as easy as opening your eyes in the morning after a night’s sleep.

No matter the form or shape any lesson in this world may take, the central theme is the same, forgiveness.  In each instance, we are given the opportunity to look upon our brothers and sisters and see the Light and recognize that is our Light as well.  We see beyond the body or any earthly manifestation and recognize the perfect soul behind the apparent madness.  We see things as they truly are and in that act, is everything forgiven and brought to Its natural state.

“Each lesson has a central thought, the same in all of them.  The form alone is changed, with different circumstances and events; with different characters and different themes, apparent but not real.  They are the same in fundamental content”  (ACIM Lesson 193 3:3-5).

There need not be any confusion or cause to get bogged down in the minutia of our lives.  Everything is used to remind us of Love.  The Love that holds us, enfolds us, and that Is Us.  The world is our classroom, with the people, our teachers.  Class is in session!

In the classroom of life, today, we embody these words,

“Forgive, and you will see this differently” (ACIM Lesson 193 5:1).

We are given the grand opportunity to experience God in these words and the feeling that washes over us, which is the means in which to, “see this differently.”  You will see the classroom with the eyes of Christ, with eyes of perfection, knowing that everything serves the one purpose, the one lesson, to awaken to the One Love of All.

Use time wisely.  Come back to our heavenly reminder today in each instance of suffering that is brought your way.  This is the gift of time, to give us the reference point to see how we are progressing on our journey Home.  Time, although just a collective of numbers, is a way to mirror our reflection.  It is a means of the eye turning back on itself, to ensure there are no longer any blind areas and that full Vision is restored.

“Time was made for this.  Use it today for what its purpose is.  Morning and night, devote what time you can to serve its proper aim, and do not let the time be less than meets your deepest need” (ACIM Lesson 193 10:4-6).

We are assured that we need nothing more than our awareness and that the rest is done for us.  If we only take a moment’s pause to be open to the opportunity of Love before us, does God meet us the rest of the way.

“To every apprehension, every care and every form of suffering, repeat these selfsame words.  And then you hold the key that opens Heaven’s gate, and bring to the Love of God the Father down to earth at last, to raise it up to Heaven.  God will take this final step Himself.  Do not deny the little steps He asks you to take Him” (ACIM Lesson 193 13:4-7).

It is not God’s Will that we suffer, thus let that be your cue today to realize the learning opportunity that is before you.  God will meet you in that moment, in the one lesson, and extend the One Love that you are.  Let this be your greatest desire today.  Let this be the moment you realize you no longer need the classroom of life, as you begin to see life differently and as a means of expressing the Love you have come to know.  Thus, the student remembers they are also the Teacher.  Namaste.
