I will not use the body’s eyes today.
“Father, Christ’s vision is Your gift to me, and it has power to translate all that the body’s eyes behold into the sight of a forgiven world. How glorious and gracious is this world! Yet how much more will I perceive in it than sight can give. The world forgiven signifies Your Son acknowledges his Father, lets his dreams be brought to truth, and waits expectantly the one remaining instant more of time which ends forever, as Your memory returns to him. And now his will is one with Yours. His function now is but Your Own, and every thought except Your Own is gone” (ACIM Lesson 270 1:1-6).
Throughout our walk together, we have gradually taken steps beyond the body. Guided by the Voice of God, in our common silence, we have been extending beyond the physical body to our eternal energetic body, the One Body of Christ. To see beyond the body’s eyes is to tap into the Truth of our sentient abilities. To go beyond that which we see to that which we SEE with our entire being.
It is highlighted in our intention today that we must put down all other desires and beliefs in order for this sight to be granted, “The world forgiven signifies Your Son acknowledges his Father, lets his dreams be brought to truth, and waits expectantly the one remaining instant more of time which ends forever, as Your memory returns to him” (ACIM Lesson 270 1:4). In order to abide in today’s vision, one must relinquish all other images of sight. One cannot hold both illusion and truth. Per our prayer in this lesson, our illusions are brought to Her so that in the following moment we are given our eternal, sentient, and holy sight, the vision that no longer needs our physical eyes; the vision that extends beyond time and ends time, as we know it to be.
The sight held beyond the body’s eyes is transformative and healing, and not just for us but for the entire world. The one thing we cannot give another soul is our experience but what we can give is our holy sight. We can always see the Light in another and this is the sight that acknowledges, “You too are the Light, remember?”
Perhaps, go on a “blind walk” with a friend today. Take turns as one of you is blindfolded while the other one safety leads. Walk around a park and notice what you “see.” What can you sense? What can you smell? What can you feel? Tap into your energetic body and the energy of all that is around you, from the trees to the pets to the humans. What can you see and know without the body’s eyes?
Vision is a gift, a gift that is shared with you today. Open your heart and all your sentient faculties and allow this natural energy to emerge from your being. Allow the softness of this Truth to flow through you. The holy sight of all is here, in you and with you. Experience it is so. Namaste.
