Lesson 327
I need but call and You will answer me.
Father, I thank You that Your promises will never fail in my experience, if I but test them out. Let me attempt therefore to try them, and to judge them not. Your Word is one with You. You give the means whereby conviction comes, and surety of Your abiding Love is gained at last” (ACIM Lesson 327 2:1-4).
Trust in God can only from experience. It can only come from stepping outside the box, placing ourselves in the safety of our vulnerability, and observing how God shows up in the moment. And it is sure that She will. However it may not look like what we anticipate or expect. That is where trust, holy vision, and experience come in.
“For God has promised He will hear my call, and answer me Himself. Let me but learn from my experience that this is true, and faith in Him must surely come to me” (ACIM Lesson 327 1:2-3).
God is surely with us, always, and answers our call. If we do not receive a response, it is because we are not paying attention to it. Today, we are encouraged to test this out, and I second that notion. This is a topic in which I am very passionate about because I have experienced it myself. The pictures that I have included in our daily walk, from the review in Part I to each day in Part II of the Course, have been solely (soul-y) inspired by my conversation with God. For example, if I have a question or if a specific need arrises before I leave my house, I ask, and BAM! I see a sign/decal/graffiti/bumper sticker that perfectly answers my heart’s contemplation. Beyond pictures, this also happens when I am listening to music or simply journaling. As I have slowed down my pace to that of a Walk in Miracles, I have noticed that there is never a time when God is not communicating with us. I have realized that She actually does not follow the sequence of “call and response” but more so is always flowing in a constant dialogue with Her Children. I call it the Cosmic Conversation. However it does require our awareness to Her presence: God must be present to witness God. In addition, it also requires that we let go of any idea of how we think God “should” show up. Why would we want to limit the message of the limitless, eternal Divine? This is why we let go, resting in the safety of our vulnerability, and trust.
How God shows up in my life may be very different from how She shows up in yours, but no matter the means, She is there. This is why today we are called to test out Her promises. And this is why only experience will do. If I have never tasted a kiwi, how can I know how good it tastes? How can I explain it to someone else? God wants nothing more than for us to taste of the bountiful gifts that She gives so abundantly. By Her invitation we must taste and SEE.
You have had the courage to walk this far, now go a step further. Continue to open up the lines of communication between You and the Divine. She answers you in a way only you can understand, in a way only Your Heart knows. Get to know Her flavor of communication with you, whether that be through painting, writing, music, the voice of another, Her own clear Voice, a book, a movie, etc. This Cosmic Conversation is infinite and thus has infinite means of reaching you. You need do nothing but be open, free of judgment and expectations, and watch how divinely She arises. You are guaranteed She will. Today, know this truth from your own personal experience. Thus, by experiencing truth, it releases a deeper cellular memory and you will never be the same again. Once more, it is divinely guaranteed. Namaste.
